(1) Courageous Attorney Fights Forced Electroshock Visits MindFreedom
*Free* *Live* Call-in Internet Radio
This Wednesday hear a live call-in interview with the attorney
fighting forced electroshock of Simone D. in New York State. The New York
State Office of Mental Health won its court case ordering Simone D., who
has already had 200 electroshocks, to have thirty (30) more over and
against her expressed wishes.
This Wednesday, 25 July 2007 at 4:00 pm ET, just click on http://prncomm.net
to listen and phone in your comments free and live with this
courageous attorney. We will definitely have one of the attorneys, and we
may even have both of them: Kim Darrow and Dennis Feld! More info:

Keep up the pressure! Keep up the nonviolent campaign to speak out to

(2) ABC News Covers Electroshock Debate, Quotes MindFreedom
The ABC News web site has published a news story about the debate
over so-called "new improved" electroshock, and several MindFreedom
members are quoted, as well as the director of MindFreedom. Here's how
you can read the ABC News article and add your comments on the ABC web

(3) Shock Survivor Says "NO!" to New York State Office of Mental
Health Commissioner!
Electroshock survivor George Ebert led off yesterday's New York State
Office of Mental Health public hearing by directly challenging OMH
Commissioner Hogan about the forced electroshock of Simone D.!
Reports George, "I explained that as as victim, a survivor, of
coerced shock treatment I felt very threatened. His response was
something like, 'Not to worry, only one person in a million in New
York State gets court ordered shock treatment.'"
You can speak out peacefully and FACE-TO-FACE with New York State
Office of Mental Health (OMH) officials who are defending their
practice of involuntary electroshock!
In the next two weeks there are three more chances for you to speak out
at OMH public hearings, see the details here:

And think ahead to October! Save the date!
Had enough of greenhouse effect, war, economic inequality and other signs
of what is called "normality"? Are you creatively maladjusted?
Thursday, 11 October 2007 has now been declared "SCREEN THE WORLD FOR
NORMALITY" day! The mental health system has named 11 October "National
Mental Health Screening Day," but we are going to screen for normality.
We want to see if there is even one (1) "normal" person on Planet Earth!
Join us! You are a leader in the International Association for the
Advancement of Creative Maladjustment (IAACM) which Martin Luther
King, Jr. called for more than 10 times! As long as you follow MLK's
guidelines, you are an IAACM leader. Do a creative event -- a bed push, a
normality screening, anything... Then video or photograph it, upload it,
tag it IAACM, let us know, spread the word!
