TAXIS - BUSES - METRO - INNER-CITY TRAINS - RENTALS
Licensed taxis are white or yellow, have a name, an identification number, and are equipped with a taxi-meter. Do not trust people who approach you offering private taxi service. In most cases they are illegal and will heavily overcharge you. The taxi-meter must be turned on upon departure and the first display lasts nine minutes ore three kilometers. Additional charges: night service -3 €; luggage - 1 € per piece; holidays - 2 €; Fiumicino Airport from Rome 10 €. In the city center there are a lot of taxi-ranks (f.e. Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Venezia, Largo Argentina,...) A taxi can be called at the following telephone numbers: 3570-4994-88177; please, remember that in this case the taxi-meter is turned on when the taxi picks up the call.

Tickets:
BIT - integrated time ticket. Price: 0.75 €. It is valid for up to 75 minutes on all ATAC buses and for 1 trip on all underground lines or the urban train lines Roma - Pantano, Roma - la Giustinia and Roma - Lido di Ostia.
BIG - integrated daily ticket. Price: 3.10 €
CIS - integrated weekly ticket. Price: 12.40 €.
BIG and CIS tickets are valid on all ATAC buses, on underground lines and urban trains within the municipality of Rome.
BIRG - integrated daily ticket Price: 4.50 €.It is valid on all ATAC and COTRAL buses and on FS trains (2nd class) within the Region of Lazio.
All tickets must be validated at the beginning of the first trip either at any underground station or on buses. Tickets are available at ATAC counters, tobacconists, newsagents and autamatic ticket dispensers at underground stations.
