WORKCAMPS IN COREA

In 2007 OIKOS organises in collaboration with  Commissione Nazionale Coreana per l'UNESCO (Korean National Commission for UNESCO, KNCU), a local non-profit organisation, several workcamps in Corea.

The fee of participation (including the annual membership-card of OIKOS) is
150,00 Euro and has to be paid when applying for a camp.

KNCU was established on 30 January 1954, following the Republic of Korea's admission to UNESCO in 1950. Since its inception, for almost half a century, KNCU has evolved to better meet the needs and aspirations of a rapidly changing Korean society and to interact with the global community. UNESCO was the first agency of the United Nations to define and develop specific programmes for young people. The principal objective of UNESCO’s strategy of action with and for youth is to champion the empowerment of young people to ensure and enhance their full participation as equal and valuable partners. Accordingly, the youth-oriented activities of KNCU focus on giving the youngsters of today and tomorrow the best possible chance to express themselves and participate fully in social life. We intend to conduct several national/ international projects in connection with international voluntary service, as well as global seminars and information services related to the culture of peace, youth participation and cultural diversity. The minimum age for all 2007 projects is 18 and the camp language is English.
