WORKCAMPS IN TURKEY
In 2009 OIKOS organises in collaboration with Genctur, a local non-profit organisation, several workcamps in Turkey.
The fee of participation (including the annual membership-card of OIKOS) is 120,00 Euro and has to be paid when applying for a camp.
The camp-fee (including board and lodging) is 80,00 Euro and has to be paid to the camp-coordinator on arrival in Turkey.

Project: Bugday (Wheat) Association has a large network of Eco Farms in Turkey. BUGDAY has recently build an eco centre for educational purposes in the rural area of Canakkale province, facing the Aegean sea from the Kaz Mountains . The founders of the organisation have a 2 hektars olive field nearby the center. The field is steep so some soil erosion happens which can easily be controlled by dry stone terraces. This work will be done with willing volunteers and guidance of dry stone master.
Volunteers interested in eco farming and like to live in the nature under simple conditions are welcomeWork: Dry stone building as terraces at a 2 hektars olive field with professional guidance on stone work for three weeks.
Location: Kucukkuyu is a small town by the sea side. The nearest cities are Canakkale and Balıkesir. The centre is located on the hills of the town at an altitude of 400 meters and 8 kms from the town center. The nearest village is 3 km.s away.
Accommodation: Under tents or in the completed rooms of the centre. Warm sleeping bag and mat are necessary. Tents will be supplied. Volunteers will prepare their meals by the given food. Only vegetarian food is available.

Special Remarks: Volunteers must be aware of the simple living conditions. The weather will be cold and the work is outside. Please note that, no alcohol - drugs are permitted during the camp at the campsite and the accommodation venue. Smoking is not allowed on the fields & accomodation areas as well.
