WORKCAMPS IN  NEPAL


The OIKOS in collaboration with FORD-Nepal (Friendship for Rural Development) in 2011, organizes international work camps aimed at contributing to the conservation and enhancement ambinetale and community development of the Himalayan territory.
FORD-Nepal is an NGO founded in 1990 and recognized by the government in 2001. 
 

FORD-Nepal organizes international work camps last about two weeks.
Time to volunteer does not exceed 30 hours per week.
The event is taking place in villages surrounded by beautiful hills, where volunteers will have the opportunity to enjoy nature and culture.

Chitwan

Location: Chitwan is situated on the banks of the Narayani river, about 200 km west of Kathmandu and about 8 km from the town of Narayangarh. E 'reachable by public transport and you can take advantage of Internet services and phone calls internazionali.

Work: The activity takes place purely in the context of environmental conservation and provides support to the villagers in environmental activities. Volunteers will be involved in the collection of data and their processing, construction and installation of litter bins in the collection of non-biodegradable waste, organizing a system of composting organic waste and transport thereof to the factories of recycling.

Accommodation: Accommodation for volunteers is done at the private homes of local families, while the food in the host family provides meals including the Nepali Daal (a dish of lentils and bean soup), rice and vegetables Bhaat Tarkaari . Location: The District of Nawalparasi district of Nepal is a population of 562,870, which has as its capital Paras. The district is part of the administrative area of Lumbini in the Western Region.

Work: The activity is spread over a number of fronts, from the restoration and painting of the local monastery to the reconstruction of damaged houses, their painting, to gardening and agriculture in the nurseries to work with wood.

Accommodation: Accommodation for volunteers is done at the private homes of local families, while the food in the host family provides meals including the Nepali Daal (a dish of lentils and bean soup), rice Bhaat (cooked rice) Tarkaari and vegetable soup. It 'should bring clothing appropriate to a season of walking shoes and hiking forestry activity, work gloves, first aid medicines, flashlight (if the rural area were deprived of electricity ), sleeping bag, mosquito net, bathroom kit, and possibly two passport photos.

Work: The working range is aimed at the development of agriculture of the local community through growing in special nurseries and organic gardens in collaboration with the local community. Activities include the collection of seeds, digging and planting of medicinal plants and all activities related to the local gardening.

Accommodation: Accommodation for volunteers is done at the private homes of local families, while the food in the host family provides meals including the Nepali Daal (a dish of lentils and bean soup), rice and soup Bhaat Tarkaa vegetables. It should bring clothing appropriate to a season of walking shoes and hiking forestry activities, work gloves, first aid medicines, flashlight (if the rural area was devoid of electricity), sleeping bag, mosquito net Kit, bath and possibly two  passport photos.

Location: The Palpa district is a district of 268,558 inhabitants of Nepal which has as its capital Tansen. The district is part of the administrative area of Lumbini in the Western Region. The district is part of Bagmati zone in the Central Region.

Work: Participants will be engaged in reconstruction and restoration of the school locale.

Accommodation Accommodation for volunteers is done at the private homes of rooms families, while the food in the host family provides meals including the Nepali Daal (a bowl of lentil soup and beans), rice and vegetable soup Bhaat Tarkaari. The district of Dhading district of Nepal has a population of 338,658 that has as its capital-Dhading Besi. The district is part of Bagmati zone in the Central Region.
